Celebrating Women’s History Month - Girl Scout Blog
At UW-Eau Claire this coming week, February brings not only the return of students to campus for the spring semester, but also the celebration of Black History Month. A wide variety of campus events meant to entertain, honor and educate will reflect the richness of black culture and history, and recognize the many accomplishments and contributions of African Americans. Several units across campus have partnered in sponsoring the slate of events, including the Division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Student Affairs, and the new program director for EDI, Dr. Demetrius Smith, is looking forward to bringing this programming to campus.

Mom had the idea to dress daughter up as notable black women to teach her about history and civil rights. But Jones had an idea. Her daughter loved to dress up, and Black History Month was just around the corner. What if Lola learned about the contributions of notable black women while dressing up as them and re-creating their most iconic looks?
For this month, however, we are taking a special moment to honor some of the women of color who influence and inspire us daily in Hudson County. Join us in celebrating Black History Month — as we share these beautiful, inspiring, and powerful women of color in Hudson County — and the work they do. Located in Downtown Jersey City, this beauty queen serves her clients with an age-old wax technique that she learned from another fabulous woman of color in the space. Her brand is based on a few of her obsessions: the beach, Caribbean, and relaxation.
